Each release of the series has been minted with a distinctive single year of issue attribute. The 2024 dated, fifth release of the series, features the first appearance of yellow 24 karat gold accents and a gorgeous field pattern on the one ounce silver proof coin. The imagery celebrating Peace, which was also struck on the four previous releases, was created by retired RCM senior engraver Susan Taylor. The design was inspired by the statue of Peace at Canada's National War Memorial in Ottawa, Ontario. The 2025 release of the series is expected to feature an effigy of King Charles III by a not-yet-disclosed Canadian artist for the first time, as well as a newly designed interpretation of Lady Peace created by Ms. This 2024 Canadian Peace Dollar coin contains one Troy ounce of 99.99% fine silver. The gilded rendition of the Queen is contrasted against a natural silver field that is adorned with a circular pattern of maple and olive leaves, which are design elements that are integral to the Lady Peace graphic located on the reverse. As an homage to the monarch's history-making seventy-year reign, the background is additionally accented by the dates "1952" and 2022.
Crafted by renowned Canadian portrait artist Susanna Blunt, this elegantly styled representation of the late monarch was first minted on Canadian coinage in 2003. Reverse: Lady Peace is fully gilded and portrayed as a young woman on the reverse. Her hair is gathered and ornamented by a wreath crafted from maple and olive foliage, elements that are emblematic of peace, order, and good government. The natural silver radial field pattern duplicates the design minted on the obverse.
