Celebrate the 25th anniversary of one of Canada's most beloved coins, the toonie. The coin was struck from an ounce of. 9999 fine silver and has selective gold plating that mimics the bi-metallic circulated piece. The coin is affectionately nicknamed the Toonie.

The note is part of the 1986 Birds of Canada Series that was issued by the Bank of Canada. Reversed as a BRX Replacement Bank Note, the note would have been used to replace one that was destroyed or damaged in printing.

The note has been preserved in the vault of the Bank of Canada for 25 years. The coin was struck from 1 oz of. Just 7,500 of these sets were issued. The set comes in a display box. Toonie: The coin's obverse features Raphael Maklouf's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.

The monarch, whose image is plated in gold, like the rim, is encircled by a rim frame. The reverse features a polar bear design by Brent Townsend. Rim inscriptions on this face read, "CANADA" and 2 DOLLARS.

Note: The note's obverse bears a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II that was engraved by Henry S. Next to her is a vignette of the Canadian Parliament, and the Canadian coat of arms is at the center. Two robins are depicted on the reverse.
